Undergraduate Students

• Declared CS Major
• At least 12 hours of CS coursework completed (NOTE: Assumes +4 hours EngE in addition to this requirement)
• 3.5 or higher in-major GPA
• At least 64 hours of university courses completed
• 3.0 or higher overall GPA
• In top 35% of class (peer students by entry date or transfer)

Graduate Students

• Candidate for CS graduate degree
• At least 15 hours of CS graduate coursework completed
• Overall and in-major GPA of 3.5 or higher
• In top 35% of class (peer MS or PhD students)

Transfer Students

• Equivalent achievement, with some CS courses taken at Virginia Tech (depending on student’s academic level at the time of transfer)

Faculty Members

• In charge of graduate or undergraduate courses and research
• Exhibit exemplary scholarship and contribution to their field
